SEO plugins are now the norm for most WordPress websites out there. Because optimization is becoming so important, most companies want to take advantage of any help they can get, and WordPress plugins are usually the first stop. The All-In-One SEO Pack is one of the best SEO plugins out there (literally take a look at any list of the best plugins, including a our post we wrote two months ago), and it has been for quite some time. However, there is another SEO plugin that has seemed to give this veteran a run for its money—Yoast.
We likely all saw it coming, but the All-In-One Pack has recently made changes to help it gain more speed and remain in competition with the increasingly popular Yoast as well as other popular plugins. The plugin is now easier to use and offers more features for businesses looking to improve their SEO.
The All-In-One SEO Pack Changes Not to Miss
The new update, called version 2.1, actually offers eight new or improved features for users, including a new interface. Below is a screenshot of how the updated version of the plugin will look on a WordPress site:
As you can see, there are quite a few changes that were made including a new no index on pages and posts, new import and export module to import your older plugin settings, and a way to exclude your individual pages from your XML Sitemap. Below are some of the more popular changes you’ll find in the updated version of the plugin:
- Verification. Every website wants to get verified on both Google and Bing Webmaster tools. With the new update, you can now just copy and paste the code that both of the Webmaster tools gave you into the section you’ll see on the plugin. You can also do this for Pinterest. If you ask me, this is now the easiest way to get your website verified.
- Social Media Module. This will help you control how social media sites will view your website. You want to make sure that your website has a good social media presence, but sometimes it can be tough to know if you’re well on those sites.
- Search Results Preview. Let’s face it—one of the biggest reasons we create SEO efforts is because we want to see it on a SERP. The new search results preview update allows you to see exactly what it will look like when it does rank well on Google.
There are also quite a few new features coming to the plugin including a file manager, robots.txt management, and XML Site Generator. You can learn more at Semper Fi Web Design.
