Google My Business is a new tool announced last week from Google. This tool is one of the bigger announcements from Google in quite some time and has a lot of potential to really help businesses succeed in several different ways. In short, this isn’t just another tool that you should learn to use when you have the time or put on the backburner for later—this one can really help you. It’s a big deal in world of Google, which means it’s a big deal for your business.
The biggest achievement of the new tool, hosted on Google+, is helping solve the problem that business have been having when it comes to Google Places, Google+ Local, and Google Maps for Business. Things were confusing when it came to management because it was tough to have your information in all of the right places to connect with customers. Below lists all of the things you can currently do with the new tool:
Basically how it works is this: When you get started with Google My Business, all of the information that you offer is automatically put onto Google Search, Google Maps, and Google+. As you can imagine, this is huge in terms of management and it will ensure that customers can find you no matter what device they’re using or what platform they are using (ex: Maps for directions or hours of operation on Search).
You can visit this link to see Google official page that offers a link to get started along with some extra information. Click on “Get On Google” and you will be sent to a page where you can find your business or create a new one.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll realize that this page is something you will soon be navigating to and from constantly whenever you want to visit your new My Business page. All you need to do to visit this page again is go to your Google+ account and find My Business (a new option you have) in the dropdown menu at the top left hand corner, as you can see below:
Once you are here, you are looking at your new dashboard where you can make all of the changes discussed above. This is now your one “control room” where you can add a photo or virtual tour, update your business information, and then do things like share an update on Google+, view your insights data such as number of views, clicks, and new followers, manage your reviews, view your Google Analytics, and start a Google+ Hangout.
